Larger men VS. Dress pants
There are 4 types of breaks in dress pants. No break, quarter break, half break, and full break. No break is not displayed in the image above. Larger men should always go with a quarter break or a no break. Having the pants fit straight down is more slimming for larger men. When the pants are bunched up at the bottom it tends to give larger men disproportional looking legs.

How to look tacky
The easiest way of making yourself look tacky is by matching your tie to your pocket square. Especially if they are the same design. Try and get accenting colors. Accent your shirt, and then accent your jacket. The only time it’s acceptable is if you’re renting a tuxedo. A great example of tacky dressing…

What collar should you wear?
Many men pick up a shirt with a spread collar and buy it because they think they look “Ko0l3r”, and many men pick up a point collar and buy it because they think its classic. But really, what are these collars doing to you? The male body is all about proportion, and clothes can create an illusion of making you appear proportional even if you’re not. Spread collars should...

How to button your suit
The rule is when you’re standing your suit jacket or sports coat should always be buttoned. This “Rule” is more of a preference. Jackets can be worn open or closed when standing, whatever makes you feel comfortable. Now, when buttoning a 2 button suit jacket or sports coat the bottom button MUST always be unbuttoned. The reason behind this is it allows the jacket to split away...

Fun Fact: Tuxedo tails and Waistcoats
When matching a waistcoat to tuxedo tailcoats the points of the waistcoat should NEVER be longer than the points on the jacket. Having the points on your waistcoat stick out the bottom of your tuxedo jacket looks awkward. This is a very common rule that is broken when dealing with tuxedo rentals and clothiers. An example of the correct length is displayed up top and an example of the incorrect...

Sports coats Vs Suit jackets
Sport coats and suit jackets really have no difference. Sports coats are typically more than once color and compliment rather than match dress slacks. As well, Blazers are typically one color and also compliment rather than match dress slacks. All suit jacks will match a pair a dress slacks creating a suit.

Suit Vs. Tuxedo
Many men want to know the difference between a tuxedo and a suit. The truth is, there really is not difference. Tuxedos are more formal due to color and style (silk lapels, and silk lining on tux slacks).Tuxedos are also worn with contrasting vests, and at time bow ties (but so can suits). Also, Tuxedos tend to have higher thread count allowing the fabric to feel more silky in texture. Higher...

Pleated pants
Most men don’t know anything about pleated pants. Pleats have a purpose, as well as the cuffs at the bottoms of pleated pants. Pleats are designed to make it easier and more comfortable when sitting down, making it a lot less tight around the thighs even when you have objects in your pockets. The cuffs on the bottoms of pleated pants are designed to weigh down the pleats, allowing the...
